Arnell Sheaks

Arnell Sheaks,46, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away suddenly on April 12, 2026, following a short illness. 

Arnell was kind and soft-hearted, never intrusive, always respectful. She carried a quiet warmth that made people feel safe and seen. She spent most of her life working at Sonic, where she was known by regulars and coworkers alike for her steady kindness and genuine care.

More than anything, Arnell loved her family of the heart. She adored her spiritual son, Joaquin (Romo), and her godson, Jadon (Vigil), and poured love into them every chance she got. She also leaves behind her brother, Robert “Bob” Sheaks (Jessica Markham) of  Summerville, SC, grandmother, Helen McClure of La Junta, CO,  mother, Denise  and sisters Kayla, Shasta and Kelsey (Raul) Schulz of Las Cruces, NM and Sara Schulz of Pueblo, CO, 8 nieces and neephews her best friends, Christina Romo and Mario Griego who were family in every way that mattered.

At home, her greatest joy was simple: sitting outside in the warmth and watching her beloved dogs, Brittany and Smokey, play. She loved her crime shows, and could talk through every twist in a case like she was part of the investigation. 

She will be terribly missed by all who were blessed to know her gentle spirit, her loyal heart, and her quiet strength.

Celebration of life Saturday, April 25 at 3 pm at Bellwood Ustick Funeral Home
