Albert Herman Riemenschneider, 83, of Ordway, CO, passed away Sunday, January 5th, at Memorial Health System, Colorado Springs, El Paso County.

Albert was born in Thurman, CO on October 28, 1936, a son of the late Edna May (Proaps) and Herman Karl Riemenschneider.

He was the husband of Helen Berniece (Janssen) Riemenschneider, they were married on August 11, 1962 in Salida, CO and celebrated 57 years.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Albert was a lifetime farmer and rancher and loved every minute of it. To say he loved farming paled in comparison to the love he had for his family, wife, children, grandchildren, and his most favorite was his six great grandchildren. He always had a smile, a joke, or a story for all those who crossed his path and he never ever knew a stranger. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Berniece of the home; Son David (Julie) Riemenschneider, of Ordway, CO; Son Dean Riemenschneider, of Ordway, CO; Daughter Kimberly (Chadd) Boyer, of International Falls, MN; Daughter Karen Riemenschneider, of Ordway, CO; Sister Velma Brommer, of Rock Rapids, IA; Brother Phillip Riemenschneider, of Ordway, CO; Sister Phyllis (Chris) Evans, of California, MD.

He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 6 great - grandchildren

Albert was preceded in death by his parents: 2 sisters and 4 brothers.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 8th at Ford - Ustick Funeral Home in Rocky Ford, CO. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 9th at River of Life Fellowship in Ordway, CO with Pastor Marcus B. Moffitt officiating. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Ordway, CO. Military Honors will be by the Rocky Ford Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sangre De Cristo Hospice House; 1207 Pueblo Blvd Way, Pueblo, CO 81005.
