Alma Ruth Barker, 91, of Springfield, CO, passed away Wednesday, November 18th, peacefully, at her residence. . Alma was born in Canon City, CO on November 15, 1924, a daughter of the late Mary Ann (Sumruld) and Elmer H. Watkins. She attended schools in Canon City. She was the widow of Ted Gordon Barker, they were married at they were married on August 17, 1941 in Canon City, CO. She worked as a Postmaster at the US Postal Service in Deora, CO., Alma was a member of the Rainbow Club, was leader in the 4-H, also taught cooking and sewing. She is survived by ; Daughter Renee Paulette McFarlane, of Las Animas, CO.; Son Perry, husband of Sue Barker, of Honolulu, HI; Sister Betty Gray, of Montrose, CO; Sister Noretta Hicks, of Alexandria, OH; Brother Bill, husband of Dorothy Watkins, of Parker, CO. She is also survived by 7 Grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Alma was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Ted Barker in 2012; Son: Norman; grandson Rusty Barker; 2 brothers: Vernon & Robert Watkins. Graveside Services will be at the Maxey Cemetery, Baca County, at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 4th,. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be at the Maxie Cemetery in Baca County, CO. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to www.fordustick.com.
