Alvaro Mendoza, 68, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away on Tuesday, May 17th, peacefully, at his residence. Alvaro was born in Madera, Chihuahua, Mexico on April 6, 1948, a son of Luis Mendoza and the late Manuela (Figueroa) Mendoza. He was the husband of Martha E. Mendoza, they have been married for 36 years. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO. He worked as a Supervisor at Hirakata Farms in Rocky Ford, CO for 40+ Years. Alvaro is survived by Wife Martha Torres-Mendoza of the home; two daughters, April Torres, of Rocky Ford, CO; Kimberly, wife of Jose Teoba, of Rocky Ford, CO; a son, Alvaro Jr. husband of Stephanie Mendoza-Torres, of Colorado Springs, CO; sons Gilbert, husband of Salena Torres, of Thornton, CO; Chris Torres, of Rocky Ford, CO; He is also survived by 17 grandchildren: Vicente & Alizabeth Sandoval; Adrianna, Lily, Jayovonni & EmmaLynn Torres; Anthony, Luis, Natalia Mendoza-Teoba; Jonathon, Javier, Quiana Torres; Dominic, Trevor, Devin, Thomas & Gisela Torres; 2 great-grandchildren. Alvaro was preceded in death by his mother; grandson: Lucas. Rosary Service will be at 9:30 AM on Monday, May 23rd at St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO. A Memorial Mass will follow at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 23rd at St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has been cremated.
