Anita Faye Peters, 82, of Ordway, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at her home.

Anita was born on January 18, 1939 in Rocky Ford to Lewis Larry and Madge Anita (Null) Proctor. She received her education in Manzanola, graduating in 1957. Anita married Ronald Peters on December 30, 1956 at the EUB Church in Ordway. They made their home near Ordway their entire life. Anita worked as a farmer and rancher's wife before they purchased Baker's Jewelry in Rocky Ford. She retired from the business in 1988 to travel throughout the country.

Anita was member of the PEO, church boards, head of Crowley County Bridge Tournament along with three bridge clubs. She also taught Sunday School for many years.

She loved working in her yard growing the most beautiful flowers ever. People would drive by the house just to see the flowers. She also loved animals but above all else, she loved her family and friends and was a very selfless person.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald of Ordway; son, Richard and wife Kathryn Peters of Fulshear, TX; daughter, Victoria Peters of Pueblo; grandchildren, Tyler Peters of Fulshear, TX, Rachel Peters of Katy, TX, Sidney Gordon of Durango, CO, Austin Peters of Pueblo, CO; brothers, Larry and wife Cheryl Proctor of Swink, CO and Garry and wife Bonnie Proctor of Aurora, CO along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronald D. Peters; and granddaughter, Amber Peters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at the Ordway United Methodist Church with Pastor Marty Lee officiating. A private family interment will be at the Valley View Cemetery in Ordway prior to the service. Masks will be required to attend the service.
