Antonio Pacheco, 95, of Ordway, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at his home. Mr. Pacheco was born November 27, 1919 in Trujillo, NM to the late Teodoro and Eloisa (Lopez) Pacheco. Mr. Pacheco was raised in Trujillo, NM and later joined the U.S. Army where he fought on the front lines in the south pacific during WWII earning the rank of private. After returninig from the war he worked at the CF & I steel mill in Pueblo, CO. He later became a restaurant owner. He then built his home in Rocky Ford and dedicated his time to raising his 9 children and played a large role in raising his grandchildren. He enjoyed his later years living on his ranch in Trujillo, NM. He is survived by his 9 children; Perfinia Sutton, Georgia Gonzales, Patrick Pacheco, Edna Austin, Laurence Pacheco, Debbie Cordova, Marshall Pacheco, Charles Pacheco, Alan Pacheco and their spouses; 20 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Angelina Martinez-Pacheco and a son Joseph Pacheco. Mr. Pacheco lived a long and happy life. He was loved and will be greatly missed. He led a full life and left behind some amazing memories. He will live on in our hearts and memories of his love ones. A Rosary service will be recited on Thursday, May 14th at 7:00 PM at the Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Las Vegas, NM. The Memorial Mass will be recited on Friday, May 15th at the Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church at 3:00 PM in Las Vegas, NM. Interment will be in the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
