Arthur Montoya of Rocky Ford passed away on January 1, 2024 at the age of 60 at his home after battling ALS. Art was born in Rocky Ford to Daniel and Jennie Montoya. He grew up in Rocky Ford and graduated from Rocky Ford High School class of 1981. After graduation Art moved to California where he worked in underground fiber optics as well as many other phases of construction. Art returned to Rocky Ford in 2009 where he spent time with his family. Art loved to work in Colorado. He has worked many jobs: tree trimming, the City of Rocky Ford and he worked in paving. His last job was with Black Is Beautiful Paving all over Colorado. In 2010 he met his life partner Mary (Lu) Trujillo who had also just returned to Rocky Ford. Art also enjoyed drawing and playing darts.

Art is survived by his life partner Mary (Lu) Trujillo, 2 sisters: Betty (Joseph Herrera) Montoya, Barbie Montoya both of Rocky Ford, numerous nieces and nephews, good friends: Toni Ann Lettiere of MI, Bruce Mills & Tommy Holms both of CA.
