Beatrice H. Drescher

Beatrice Drescher (Bea) 93, of Olney Springs died Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the Fowler Health Care Center. Graveside services will be Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Olney Springs Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Methodist Church in Olney. Ms. Drescher was born at Olney Springs on October 1, 1915 to Edward R. and Mamie L. (Schreiber) Drescher. She grew up and graduated from high school in Olney. She furthered her education at Greely, receiving her teaching degree. She taught in the public schools at Golden Colorado, retiring in Olney at the home place just outside of town. She loved teaching, singing and especially playing her piano. Walking was one of her favorite pastimes along with reading and doing word puzzles. She was a life long member of the Methodist Church in Olney Springs. Bea was preceeded in death by her parents, two sisters, and a brother. She is survived by two nieces, Jacquelyn Andersen and Nancy McPherson and two nephews Ed Hiett and Herb Smith and their families.
