Beatrice (Bea) Gallegos, 90, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away on Friday, September 23rd, peacefully surrounded by her children and 2 grandchildren at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center, La Junta. Bea was born in Rocky Ford, CO on October 29, 1925, a daughter of the late Rosa (Baca) and Demetrio Montoya. She was the widow of George Edward Gallegos, they were married on September 7, 1943 in Raton, NM. He preceded her in death on November 22, 2006. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO where she was a member of the St. Peters Catholic Women. Bea was a Cook at Lincoln Elementary in Rocky Ford, CO. Bea is survived by; Daughter Georgina, wife of Carl Meehan, of Colorado Springs, CO; Son Frank, husband of Hope Gallegos, Sr., of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Ed, husband of Jackie Gallegos, of Colorado Springs, CO; Daughter Margaret, wife of Urvin Medina, of Rocky Ford, CO; Son George Edward Gallegos, Jr., of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Jimmy Gallegos of Rocky Ford, CO; She is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Donna (Jarhia) Bowman, Jody (TJ) Jennings, Tera Gallegos, Elishia (Wilfredo) Aguilar, Frank (Jenette) Gallegos,Jr., Tammy Lynn (Jay) Daughtry, Daniel Edward Gallegos, Anitra Marie Gallegos, Jeremy Medina, Jan Marie Medina, Julie (Eugene) Ortega; 27 great-grandchildren; Vanessa Bowman, Cori Grant, Edward Bowman, Jr., Melina Mondragon, Adria Marino, Gabriel Jennings, Noah Jennings, Marissa Gallegos, Frank Gallegos, III, Whitney Gallegos, Dominick Romero, Angelia Bennett, Evangeline Lindsay, Danica Lindsay, Lilliana Marquez, Alanna Medina, Cruz Medina, Jonah Meyer, Jacob Meyer, Marisa Ortega, Karina Ortega, Fabian Ortega, Damian Ortega, LilyAnn Ortega, Noami Meehan, Bruce Meehan, Amanda Daughtry, Jenna Scott, Jaron Daughtry; 5 great-great-grandchildren: Malachi Fiedler, Marcial Meehan, Idasia Meehan, Anthony Mahar, Shelby Scott, Jordyn Scott. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son: Raymond Thomas Gallegos; daughter: Nancy Gallegos; 2 brothers: James Montoya & Fidel Valerio; 2 sisters: Domie Aragon & Patsy Vigil. A Rosary Service will be recited at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 28th, 2016 with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 AM both at St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO, with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home.
