Mr. Benny Joe Vigil, 81, of Rocky Ford passed away on Thursday, September 13th, 2012 surrounded by his family at Minnequa Medicenter, Pueblo, CO. Benny was born in Springer, NM on October 27, 1930, the son of the late Santiago Vigil and Carmen (Sena) Bonnemili. He attended school in Springer, NM. He was the husband of Lucy Mary (Roybal) Vigil. They were married on August 8,1955 in Rocky Ford, CO they were married for 58 years. He served in the U.S. Army as a Pfc in the Korean War. He retired as a Civil Servant from the Pueblo Army Depot in Pueblo, CO. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO. He is survived by his wife; Lucy of the home; Daughter Sally (Jaime) Cavazos of San Antonio, TX; Son Frank Vigil of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Pat (Angie) Vigil of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Danny Vigil of Pueblo, CO; Daughter Diane Maxwell of Pueblo, CO; Daughter Valerie (Felipe) Blea of La Junta, CO; Son Jerry (Geraldine) Vigil of Cortez, NM; Brother Joe Vigil of Gillette, WY; Brother Charles Bonnemili of Pueblo, CO; Brother James Bonnemili of Pueblo, CO. He is also survived by 17 Grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Benny was preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Ruby Jaramillo; 2 sisters; 3 brothers; A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow all at the St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 17th, with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. A Visitation will be on Sunday from 1-5 PM at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO.
