Bernice Michaud

August 26, 1942 - September 9, 2010

Mrs. Bernice June Michaud, 68, of Rocky Ford died on Thursday, September 9th, 2010 at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center, La Junta, CO. Bernice was born in Pueblo, CO on August 26, 1942, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ella Sara (Gregory) Torrence. Berniece grew up in Pueblo and graduated high school and then attended business school. In 1964 married Stephen Williams. They had one daughter named Rhonda. Berniece and Stephen divorced in 1973. Berniece several year later married Donald Spann, they were married for 12 years in that time they had moved to the Southwest and finally settled in Las Cruces N.M. Bernice never thought that she would eventually fall in love with the southwest as much as she did. Her deeper love was with Mexico, she travel south of the border many times. Bernice started a business out of her love of Mexico and opened a boutique of imports from Mexico. She had many business adventures in her life. Berniece was very active as a home maker as well she was a big part in Rhonda's Girl Scout troop. Helping in fund raisers to raise funds that would send the Scout troop to Santa Fe to see the state capital and then on to Washington D.C. to see the nations capital. In 1987 she married Alex Michaud until 1995. Later in life Berniece moved back to Co. where she lived the rest of her life. She is survived by her two sisters Marybeth Boyd of Pueblo Co., Patricia Keller of Joseph Or., Her daughter Rhonda wife of Robert Grimaldo and two grandchildren Ferrell Tuttle and R.Ax Tuttle.
