Betty Lou Maier, 86, of La Junta, CO, passed away Saturday, September 13th, peacefully, at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center. Betty was born in Lamar, CO on March 26, 1928, a daughter of the late Matie May (Coffield) and Joseph Milton Best. She was the widow of George William Maier, they were married on 3/31/1946 in Raton, NM. She retired as a Cashier Clerk at Safeway in La Junta, CO. She was a Lutheran. She is survived by; Daughter Judy Nichols, of Culpeper, VA; Son Don, husband of Peggy Maier, of La Junta, CO; Brother-in-law Jake, husband of Dorothy Maier, of Canon City, CO; Granddaughter Kathy Nichols, of Raleigh, NC; Grandson John, husband of Jamie Nichols, of Culpeper, VA; Grandson Destin Maier, of Springfield, CO; Granddaughter Janell Maier, of La Junta, CO; Great-grandson Jaxon Nichols, of Culpeper, VA; Great-Grandson Jordan Nichols, of Culpeper, VA; Great-Grandson Jovie Nichols, of Culpeper, VA. Graveside Services will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:30 AM on Friday, September 19th, with Rev. Steve Culver officiating. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO. Family request donations to Macular Denegeration or Your Favorite Charity .
