It is with great sadness that the family of Betty Rose (Martinez) Terrones announces her passing on September 20, 2018 at the age of 67. Betty will be lovingly remembered by her husband Lupe her children Anthony and Lisa and her grandchildren Robert and Elena Ornelas.
Betty was born in Rocky Ford, CO on July 6, 1951, a daughter of the late Maria (Lucero) and Juan Martinez.
Betty graduated from Manzanola High School in 1969.
She was the wife of Guadalupe "Lou" Terrones, they were married on August 1, 1970 in Rocky Ford.
She attended the St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO.
Betty Rose Martinez grew up in a loving home; She was raised by her late mom Maria Martinez and surrounded by her loving brothers and sisters in Manzanola, Colorado. Years later she met and married Guadalupe Terrones and had 2 children, Anthony in 1972 and Lisa in 1977. Betty enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her two children. Later she became a grandmother to Robert and Elena. Watching them grow up and being there for them through everything whether it was baking a cake, making a puzzle with them or even driving through several counties to watch them at a baseball game. Betty Terrones lived the best life she could with whatever she was given. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones and will forever be with us.
She is survived by her husband Lou of the home; Son Anthony Terrones, of Ordway, CO; Daughter Lisa Marie Terrones, of Ordway, CO; Grandson Jacob Robert Ornelas, of Ordway, CO; Granddaughter Elena Rose Ornelas, of Ordway, CO; Sister Odelia, wife of Ben Quintana, of Denver, CO; Sister Nora Baca, of Colorado Springs, CO; Sister Viola Blea, of Denver, CO; Sister Ida Perez, of Denver, CO; Brother Felipe, husband of Mary Martinez, of Colorado Springs; Brother Ben, husband of Virginia Martinez, of Manzanola, CO; She is also survived by Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her dad Juan Martinez, mom Maria Martinez, sisters Evan Martinez and Manuelita Conferina Garcia; brothers Anastacio Cristobal Martinez, Jose De La Cruz Martinez, Jose Claudio Martinez and Noberto Claudio Martinez
A Rosary Service will be held 10:00 AM on Monday, October 8th with A Memorial Mass to be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, October 8th both at the St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. Inurnment will be private at a later time in Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peters Catholic Church 1209 Swink Av., Rocky Ford, CO 81067.
