Obituary

Forever in our hearts, our beautiful daughter, sister, aunt and friend Beverly Ann Stevens, 66, passed away on August 20, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs.

Graceful, strong and faithful, Bev courageously battled cancer for many months. Her zest for life remained resilient as did her faith.  She was a dedicated member of the CommUnity Presbyterian Church of Rocky Ford.

Born on March 15, 1953, Beverly was the daughter of Lois (Brinkley) and Robert W. Stevens of Rocky Ford, Colorado. When three months old, Beverly and her family moved to Littleton, Colorado. Upon completion of her education, she moved to California where she spent her entire career as a promotional manager for Warner Electra Atlantic Records promoting top entertainers, getting their music in record stores and on the radio and ultimately helping many of them achieve numerous gold records. She was the first woman in the industry to be named a promotional manager and was voted #1 nationally in the company.  This career involved many travels with the entertainers she represented.  After forty plus years, Bev was able to retire and lead a more relaxed life.

The travels continued for this energetic gal as she visited Thailand twice, England, Japan, France and other countries.  She visited family and friends often in the United States and maintained homes in Rocky Ford and Navato, California.Â

Hobbies included collecting friends, making beautiful jewelry, reading, collecting records and enjoying music.

Animals were Beverly's passion – she was a strong advocate for four legged critters - especially rescue animals.   Memorial contributions in Beverly Stevens name can be made to Best Friends Animal Society, Attn. Jonna W., 5001 Angel Canyon Rd, Kanab, UT 84741  https://secure.bestfriends.org/page/contribute/memory or to the CommUnity Presbyterian Church.Â

Beverly is survived by her mother, Lois Schwien of Rocky Ford, her brother, Doug (Lynn) Stevens of Seattle, Washington and niece, Kaitlin Stevens (Max Scher) also of Seattle.  Missing her dearly are her beloved dog, Dulce and bunny, Gabana.  Fantastic memories were made with lifelong best friends:  Claudette Kelly, Jan Stark and Marcia Reily.

She was preceded in death by her father and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Bev's brave, generous, compassionate heart and wonderful sense of humor will never be forgotten.  She was a true inspiration to all who were fortunate to know her!

A Celebration of Life will be held 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 7 at the CommUnity Presbyterian Church in Rocky Ford, CO with Pastor Steve L. Culver officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO.  There will also be a memorial service in California at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to www.fordustick.com.
