Mrs. Carolina Maria Lucero, 72, of La Junta died Monday, October 24th, 2011 while in the company of family members at Pioneer Health Care Center, Rocky Ford, CO. Carolina was born in Rocky Ford, CO on December 15, 1938, the daughter of the late Catareno and Modesta Lucero. She was a Teacher's Aid. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO 81067. She is survived by: Son Tony Lucero of La Junta, CO; Daughter Pam Lucero of La Junta, CO; Son Ricardo Sandoval of La Junta, CO; Son Karl Sandoval of Pueblo, CO. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at the St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 27th, with Fr. Alphonsus Ihuoma officiating. There was no public viewing per her request. A Rosary Service was recited at 9:30 AM Thursday at St. Peters Catholic Church. Interment was in the Hillcrest Cemetery Rocky Ford, CO.
