Carrie L Jonach, 102, of Sugar City passed away Saturday June 16 th peacefully at her home.
Carrie was born on the Sellers Family Farm in Chariton, Iowa on April 19, 1916, daughter of the late Cassie (Yont) Sellers and Harris L Sellers.
Carrie received her Bachelor's of Education from Drake University in 1945 and then her Master's of Education from Columbia University in 1952. She taught at Central High School in Pueblo, CO for many years.
She was the widow of Emil John (Johnny) Jonach. They were married in January 1953 in Santa Fe, NM. Johnny and Carrie owned and operated the Jonach's Hardware, Furniture and Mortuary business in Ordway for many years. After his death, Carrie continued to operate the business for several years.
Carrie was preceded in death by her sisters Twila L Sellers, Mamie Carpenter, lone Sellers and her twin sister Clara Miner. She also was preceded in death by her two brothers Harris Sellers and John Sellers.
Carrie is survived by her two daughters Joanie Caudill with spouse Howard and Gayle Brown and husband Dan. Carrie's oldest daughter Sherrill Lynn Patterson preceded her in death in 2016. She is also survived by nephews John, Pat, Joe and Toni.
Carrie was lovingly cared for the last 10 years by Judy Padilla and several other caregivers.
She was a member of the Ordway United Methodist Church.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday June 27 th at the Ordway United Methodist Church in Ordway, CO with Pastor Marty Lee officiating. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Ordway, CO.
