Catarina Viola (Cathy) Ricks, 81, of Dacono, CO, passed away Monday, January 21st, at Denver Hospice Inpatient Care Center, Denver.

Catarina was born in Trinidad, CO on August 28, 1937, a daughter of the late Margarita (Dominguez) and Jose Onfre Aragon.

She was the widow of Donald David Ricks, they were married on October 5, 1975 in Loveland, CO at the Chapel of Love. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2018.

Cathy was more than a mother, she worked as a CNA, an embalmer, machinist for Coca-Cola and a Packaging Technician at Frozen Foods.

She enjoyed reading, watching movies and sports, especially tennis, the Nuggets, Rockies and Avalanche, shopping, cooking, fishing and listening to music. She liked staying connected with her siblings and many cousins. But her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren, great - grandchildren and family.

She is survived by:

Son Michael (Denise) Tyler, of Commerce City, CO; Daughter Jacqueline Tyler-Goldsboro, of Denver, CO; Daughter Suzanne Tyler, of Denver, CO; Daughter Kirstie (Eugene) Joseph, of Denver, CO; Daughter Kerry (Matt) Rogers, of Castle Rock, CO;

Daughter Erika (Eloy Vasquez) Ricks, of San Diego, CA; Daughter Gail (Ted) Engh, of Dacono, CO.

She is also survived by her siblings, Sammy (Denise) Aragon of Texas, Lou (Ed) Torres of California, Rudy (Karen) Aragon of Pueblo West, CO, Joan Maes of Rocky Ford, CO, Benny (Jean) Aragon of Rocky Ford, CO, Janice Lucero of Hawaii and Betty (George) Apadoca of Colorado Springs, CO; 18 grandchildren, Toree Byrd, Trenson Byrd, Tyler Byrd, William Goldsboro, III, Cole Rogers, Skylar Rogers, Olivia Joseph, Tenor Joseph, Aviona Ricks, Alyssa Ricks, Austin (Sabrina) De Long, Mariah De Long, Tasha Engh, Ashley Torres, Angel Vazquez, Nikolas Vazquez, Tyler Vazquez, Tristin Vazquez and 15 great-grandchildren.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Ricks, daughters Margarita Tyler and Linda Byrd.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be private at a later time.
