It is with profound sorrow and heartfelt reverence that we announce the passing of Catherine B. Santistevan, who departed this life on April 30, 2026, in Pueblo, surrounded by those who cherished her most dearly. Born on November 30, 1954, in the quaint town of Rocky Ford, Catherine’s journey through life was marked by an unwavering devotion to family, an unyielding spirit of generosity, and a radiant joy that illuminated all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Catherine was a woman of exceptional warmth and kindness, embodying a spirit willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Her generous heart and caring nature transcended the ordinary, as she constantly sought to nurture not only those within her family but also anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Encouraging others to strive for their best, she was a pillar of strength and inspiration to many.
A consummate homemaker and a culinary artist, Catherine’s passions included cooking and fishing, pastimes through which she found great solace and happiness. She delighted in creating beautiful cakes for every occasion, often taking joy in orchestrating lively parties for all the children, infusing each celebration with laughter and warmth. Her kitchen was a sanctuary where love was measured not by ingredients, but by the care and happiness she infused into every dish.
Her proudest accomplishments were marked by her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), a role she embraced with diligence and pride. To Catherine, hard work was a testament to character, and she demonstrated this throughout her life. Equally, she cherished deeply the successes of her children, nieces, and nephews, whose achievements brought her immense pride and joy.
Catherine is mourned by her beloved husband of 50 years, Maurice Santistevan, a steadfast companion and partner who shared her journey through life’s triumphs and trials. She leaves behind one surviving son, James Santistevan, whose bond with her remains a testament to her enduring love and guidance. Her family circle also includes three siblings: Larry LeBlanc, Janet LeBlanc, and Loretta Trujillo, all of Rocky Ford, who shared in the joys and sorrows of a lifetime. The love and admiration of her nieces, Jennifer Vigil and Tasha Chavez, along with numerous other nieces and nephews, further underscore the far-reaching impact of her nurturing spirit.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, Catherine’s legacy is tenderly woven into the fabric of those she leaves behind. She rests now from her earthly toil, reunited in spirit with her deceased son, Matthew Santistevan; her beloved parents, Annie and Albino LeBlanc; and her sisters, Grace LeBlanc and Charlotte Martinez, whose memories she carries faithfully in her heart.
A memorial service to honor the life and memory of Catherine B. Santistevan will be held on May 14, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Bellwood Ustick Funeral Home in Rocky Ford. In this solemn gathering, all who knew her will come together to celebrate a life so beautifully lived, filled with love, laughter, and devotion.
In remembering Catherine, we recall a soul whose joyous spirit was as boundless as her generosity—a beacon of kindness and a symbol of enduring love. Though she has passed from our sight, the warmth of her memory remains an eternal flame in our hearts.
