Charlotte Jenkins

Graveside services for Charlotte Jenkins, 90, will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery on Friday, November 11, 2008 at 1:30 PM with Rev. John Dell presiding. Mrs. Jenkins died on November 11, 2008 at Pioneer Health Care Center. She was born on September 18, 1918 to Wassa and Ruth (Scott) Lay in Rocky Ford, CO. She was married to Delmer Jenkins in Texas on August 12, 1941. The couple made their home in Rocky Ford. Mrs. Jenkins was a homemaker and kept the books for her husband's plaster and stucco business. She belonged to the "Kitchen Kousins" home demonstration club. She worked as an election judge for 20 years. She is survived by daughter, Cheryl Gilbert of Rocky Ford, cousin Kathryn Lenz of St. Paul, MN, brother in law, Kem (Lorna) Jenkins Canon City, and sister in law, Ernestine Jenkins of Denver and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers-Howard and Jack, her husband of 53 years, and the majority of her extended family.
