Mrs. Cheryl (Cheri) Martinez, 52, of Golden, Co. died on Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 suddenly at the Exempla Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, CO. Cheryl was born in La Junta, CO on June 25, 1956, the daughter of the late Jack and Mary Ellen (Trainor) Bitter. Cheri graduated from Rocky Ford High School. She worked as a Medical Transcriptionist She is survived by: Daughter Belinda wife of Adam Mondragon of La Junta, Co.; Son Tim Martinez of Ordway, Co.; Son Brian Martinez of La Junta, Co.; Sister Jacque Hight of La Junta, Co.; Brother Joe Trainor of Rocky Ford, Co.; Granddaughter Kayene Mondragon of La Junta, Co.; Granddaughter Seriah Martinez of Las Animas; Grandson Grayden Mondragon of La Junta, Co.. She was preceded in death by her Grandson Josiah Martinez and a sister Michelle Tucker Funeral Services will be at the First United Methodist Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, January 28th, with Rev. Olga Hard officiating. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 10 AM until 5 PM at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home, LLC. Interment will be in the Las Animas Cemetery in Las Animas, CO. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to help the family with expenses. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home.
