Cheryl Lynn Martinez, 40, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Saturday, August 1st, at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center, La Junta.

Cheryl was born in Rocky Ford, CO on January 24, 1980, a daughter of Julia Lee Jane (Gauna) and Pete Arthur Martinez.

Cheryl was an amazing mother, grandma, daughter, sister and friend. She put her daughters and grandkids first. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sitting outside of the home that she shared with Fernando Gonzales, drinking a beer and watching the cars go by. She was a very kind-hearted person who always put her kids and family before everything. We will always remember her as a loving, caring and strong independent woman who worked hard her whole life.

She is survived by Husband Fernando Gonzales of the home; Parents Pete and Jane Martinez of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Qianna Vigil, of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Qierra Vigil, of Rocky Ford, CO; Brother Tom (Yolanda) Martinez, of Rocky Ford, CO; Brother Jimmy Martinez, of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Cindy (Joseph) Montoya, of Rocky Ford, CO; Grandson Jordan Ramirez, of Rocky Ford, CO; Granddaughter Jailiana Ramirez, of Rocky Ford, CO.

She is also survived by Numerous Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

She was preceded in death by: brother: Randy Martinez; grandparents: Flora and Abilino Gauna; Fred and Tillie Martinez

A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the First Church of the Nazarene in La Junta, CO. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment of her cremains will be private at a later time.
