Daniel Logan (Huck) Huckaby, 70, of Fowler, CO, passed away Tuesday, November 27th, while in the company of family, at Parkview Medical Center, Pueblo, Pueblo County.

Daniel was born in Plattsburg, MO on April 20, 1948, a son of the late Hattie Louise (Christian) and Charles Alvin Huckaby.

Dan graduated from Pueblo County High School in 1966 and attended formerly SCSC now known as USC of Pueblo.

Dan was married to Betty (Brown) Huckaby in 1968, they later divorced.

He attended the Solid Rock Baptist Church in Fowler, CO.

He worked for the Pueblo Chemical Depot for 30 years.

Dan was without a doubt a family man, and treasured time spent together fishing, camping and enjoying nature, as well as attending events and games of his kids and later his grand kids. He was a den leader and pine box derby enthusiast, consistent provider, loving husband and proud dad and granddad. He was also an athlete who played and coached softball, coached t-ball, played semipro baseball, was a boxer, ping pong champion and an avid basketball player too. He was the family jokester and word wiz and a crossword puzzle connoisseur. Dan was a faithful Christian, a friend to many and a source of laughter and love to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be dearly missed and always loved.

He is survived by: Daughter Shelly Lorenz, of Aurora, CO; Son Dustin Huckaby, of Fowler, CO; Daughter Nikki Huckaby, of Fowler, CO; Brother Stanley Huckaby, of Colorado Springs, CO; Brother John, (Kathy) Huckaby, of Canon City, CO; Brother Chuck Huckaby, of Arizona; Sister Mary, (Bill) Dow, of Oklahoma; Sister Alice Jo Rogers, of Pueblo, CO; Sister Lillie Huckaby, of Oklahoma.

He is also survived by 5 Grandchildren: Amanda Huckaby, Ciara Huckaby, Jestine Romero, Adynn Ahumada, Kadin Huckaby - Porco, great-granddaughter: Azolea Simpson; numerous step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and cousins.

Huck was preceded in death by his parents; son: Shannon Huckaby on June 23, 2018. Granddaughter: Caitlin Huckaby - Davis on February 23, 2003 and a son-in-law: Rudy Ahumada.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 8th at Solid Rock Baptist Church in Fowler, CO with Pastor BJ Ballard officiating. Inurnment will be private at a later time.
