Mr. Danny Torrez, 56, of Rocky Ford died on Thursday, October 22nd, 2009 while in the company of family members at his residence. Danny was born in LaJunta, CO on July 21, 1953, the son of Manuel Desiderio Torrez and Lola (Lopez) Torrez. He graduated from Rocky Ford High School. He was the husband of Presillia Ann (DelVillar) Torrez. He retired as a Meat Cutter at Rocky Ford Food Market Rocky Ford, CO 81067. He also worked at McClain's Super Foods and Valley Soopers. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO 81067. He was well known for his service to the community. Danny loved to play softball of which he played for many years and made many friends. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He is survived by His father; his wife; Daughter Juanita (Jose Cardenas) Gonzales of Pueblo, CO; Son Daniel (Krystin Medrano) Torrez of Rocky Ford, CO; Granddaughter Tillie Gonzales of Rocky Ford, CO; Grandson Zachary Gonzales of Rocky Ford, CO; Granddaughter Quianna Torrez of Rocky Ford, CO; Grandson Nicco Rubio of Pueblo, CO; Grandson Dante Torrez of Rocky Ford, CO; Granddaughter Madison Torrez of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Martha (Alvardo Mendoza) Torres of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Kitty (Martin) Rodriguez of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Dorothy (Art) Jaramillo of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Rita (Larry) Abeyta of Colorado Springs, CO; Sister Mabel (Bernardo Rodriguez)Torrez of Rocky Ford, CO; Brother & Best Friend Bobby (Antonia) Torrez of Rocky Ford, CO. He was preceded in death by his step-mother: Jennie Torrez; in-laws: Jennie & Demetrio Miera; grandparents: Pedro & Corina Torres Memorial Service will be at the St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 30th, with Fr. Don Malin officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. A Vigil Service will be recited at 7:00 PM Thursday at St. Peters Catholic Church. Inurnment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery Rocky Ford, CO.
