David Lee Goebel

Mr. David Lee Goebel, 65, of Rocky Ford passed away suddenly Friday, February 8th, 2013 at his residence. David was born in La Junta, CO on January 26, 1948, the son of David and Esther (Grassmick)Goebel. He graduated from Rocky Ford High School and OJC. David was the widower of Diana Marie (Eichman) Goebel. They were married on June 21, 1981 in Arvada, CO. She preceded him in death on Jan. 28, 2010. He worked as a Jeweler and was an artist and goldsmith. He was a member of First Christian Church in Rocky Ford, CO, he was active in the Choir and the Cantata and was the Valley Bible Scholar. He is survived by his mother: Esther Allen of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Larisa Goebel-Yancey (Alan) of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Linda Smith of Toronto, Ontario; Brother Ron Goebel of Rocky Ford, CO; Niece Linnea Goebel of Rocky Ford, CO; Niece Niki Smith of Toronto, Ontario; Mother-in-law Esther Eichman of La Junta, CO; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins & Friends Memorial Services will be at the First Christian Church, Rocky Ford, CO, with Pastor John Dell and Rev. Steve Culver officiating on Thursday, February, 14, 2013 at 11:00 AM. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be private at a later time.
