Delia Olona Gaucin

Delia Olona Gaucin, 83, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Wednesday, November 25th, while in the company of family members, at St. Thomas Moore Hospital in Canon City, CO. Delia was born in French, NM on April 13, 1932, a daughter of the late Maria Caroline (Chavez) and Bernable Olona. She attended schools south of Rocky Ford in the Grand Valley area. Delia worked as a Cook at Pioneer Healthcare Center in Rocky Ford, CO, retiring in 2001. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO. She volunteered at the Recycle Center and the thrift shop and various other things in the Rocky Ford area. She is survived by; Son Robert, husband of Tricia Olona, of Canyon, TX; Great-Niece Nikita Olona, of Rocky Ford, CO; Great-Niece Chynna Olona, of Canyon, TX; Great-Great-Nephew Elliott Olona, of Canyon, TX; Sister Jenny Bustamonte, of Colorado Springs, CO; Sister Nancy Sanchez, of Canon City, CO. She was also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sisters Carmen Chavez & Mary Olona; Brother Lee Olona. A Rosary service will be recited at 6:00 PM on Monday, November 30, 2015 with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at St. Peters Catholic Church with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. A Visitation will be on Monday from 2-4 PM at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery Rocky Ford, CO. Delia's favorite color was blue and she requested that those attending please wear something blue. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home.
