Dora Marquez Lucero, 97, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Thursday, June 21st, peacefully, at her residence.

Dora was born in Aguilar, CO on April 2, 1921, a daughter of the late Rebecca Maria (Montoya) and Juan Miguel Marquez.

She was the widow of Nash Lucero, Jr., they were married on Feb. 1, 1948 in Aguilar, CO.

She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO.

Nash & Dora worked many years together operating a sno-cone and concession business, previously had worked as a CNA and operated the Clothes Connection in Rocky Ford, CO.

Dora is survived by

four daughters, Linda, wife of Cyril Chavez, of Rocky Ford, CO;

Belinda, wife of James Rael, of Pueblo, CO;

Sharon, wife of Eric Sandoval, of Aurora, CO;

Rebecca, wife of Sandy Medrano, of Colorado Springs, CO;

a son, Nash, III husband of Rose Lucero, of Pueblo West, CO;

She is also survived by 13 Grandchildren: Adam (Toni) Chavez, David (Tasha) Chavez, Leanna Chavez, John (Laura) Chavez, Joshua Rael, Kayla (Joseph) Garcia, Eric Sandoval, Jr., Amanda (Jeff) Martin, Michelle (Steve Wyatt) Sandoval, Ethan Sandoval, Angela (Chris) Bachicha, Lauren (Patrick) Morrell, Justin "JD" (Bailee Ferris) Lucero and beloved dogs Beau and Baby; 21 Great-Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great-Granddaughter. Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Dora was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters and 4 brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM on Monday, June 25th at Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Patrick Parish, La Junta, CO with Father Henry Wertin officiating. Interment will be in the Ft. Lyon National Cemetery in Las Animas, CO.
