Doug Powers of Rocky Ford passed away on January 6, 2024 at the age of 59 at his home. Doug was born in Trinidad to Perry and Gloria Powers. Doug grew up in Rocky Ford. His family owned the El Capitan in Rocky Ford and Doug started working there as a waiter. Doug was at the El Capitan for at least 35 years. He always tried to come out and greet each guest in the restaurant. They sold the restaurant in 2017. Doug had a great sense of humor, he was always joking and laughing. He liked to make other people laugh and was a great comedian. He was a very helpful person, he would give you suggestions on how to make things better. Doug was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Rocky Ford. He was a reader for mass and also helped out around the church. He also liked to work on cars as one of his hobbies.
