Mr. Edward Lee (Ed) Gettel, 54, of Rocky Ford died on Friday, March 23rd, 2012 at his residence. Edward was born in Cortez, CO on August 8, 1957, the son of the Mary Edith (Rose) and Oliver Lewis Gettel. He graduated from Pueblo East High and from Pueblo Community College. Ed married Connie Santistevan in 1992 and they later divorced. He served in the U.S. Navy for 10 years. Ed worked as a Rail Inspector at Chemtron Rail Pueblo, CO. He had also worked as computer technician for Apple in Colorado Springs, as a transportation technician for Parkview Hospital and had also worked for the Pueblo Army Depot. He was a member of the Rocky Ford ELKS Lodge #1147. He is survived by His father, Oliver of Westcliffe, CO; Son Peter Gettel of Pueblo, CO; Ex-wife: Connie Santistevan of Pueblo, CO; Step Daughter Alison Santistevan of Pueblo, CO; Sister Nancy Lynn wife of Robert Trimble of Pueblo, CO; Sister Patricia wife of James Gunter of Pueblo, CO; Sister Linda wife of John Gunter of Pueblo, CO. He is also survived by Dear friends; Norma Jean Lloyd and the Paul Carter family; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother; sister: Holly Marie Gettel; step-mother, Belinda Gettel. A Memorial Service will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Rocky Ford, CO, at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 29th. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery Rocky Ford, CO. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to www.fordustick.com.
