Mr. Eltjo "Joe" Visker, 87, of Rocky Ford died Wednesday, July 27th, 2011 in Wellton, AZ. Joe was born in Little Rock, IA on December 3, 1923, the son of the late Heiko and Bowana (De Young) Visker. He was the husband of Ruth Anne (Monaco) Boone. They were married on Aug. 25, 1979 in LaJunta, CO. She survives. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He worked as a Superintendent at Rocky Crushing Crew retiring at the age of 70. In his earlier years he worked at Ft. Lyon and at the Las Animas Ice Plant. At one time he worked for Valco and the Arie Brothers. For recreation he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed using his boat whenever possible. He loved to play cards and games and was a big tinkerer, always fixing something. He also had a passion for music and played the accordian and harmonica. He is survived by his wife; Anne of the home; Step Son Cecil husband of Lori Osborne of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Gardinia wife of Jim Shadwell of Akron, CO; Brother Billy Visker of California; Brother George husband of Diane Visker Sister Dena Ennenga of Moises Lake, WA; Step Daughter Valerie Lane of San Antonio, TX; Step Daughter Leslie wife of Jack Hartvig of Wausau, WI; Step Son Dana Boone of El Paso, TX; Step Daughter Laura wife of Eddie Snyder of Canon City, CO. He is also survived by Numerous Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, Nieces & Nephews. He was preceded in death a son: Perry; 3 sisters: Grace, Janis & Cora; 7 brothers: Henry, Joe, Pete, Clause, Egbert & Julius Memorial Services will be at the Valley Community Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 3rd, with Pastor Kurt England officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be private at a later time. A Memorial Fund has been established with the Disabled American Veterans; P.O.
