Emil James (Jimmy) Cordova, 60, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Monday, November 3rd, 2014 peacefully, at Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center-Nursing Center East, La Junta. Jimmy was born in Pueblo, CO on December 7, 1953, a son of the late Celestina (Amparan) and Emilio Cordova. He worked at Inspiration Field in La Junta, CO., He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford. He is survived by; Brother Del, husband of Inez Cruz, of Rocky Ford, CO; Brother Johnny Cruz, of San Jose, CA; Brother Bobby Munoz, of Tacoma, WA; Nephew Daniel, husband of Patricia Cruz, of Colorado Springs, CO; Nephew Dion, husband of Christina Cruz, of Colorado Springs, CO; Niece Danette, wife of Alex Garcia, of Albuquerque, NM; Nephew Ronald, husband of Rebecca Cruz, of San Jose, CA; Great-Nephew Devan Cruz, of Colorado Springs, CO; Great-Nephew Deric Cruz, of Colorado Springs, CO; Great-Niece Dionna Cruz, of Colorado Springs, CO; Great-Nephew Kody Garcia, of Albuquerque, NM; Great-Niece Brionna Garcia, of Albuquerque, NM; Great-Nephew Ronnie, husband of Christina Cruz, of San Jose, CA. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Marie Cruz A Rosary service will be recited at 10:00 AM with a Memorial Mass to follow at St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 15th, with Fr. Paul Ekeh and Fr. Matthew Wertin officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO.
