Ervin Emerson (Fritz) Sage, Jr., passed away on June 16, 2021, at the Pioneer Health Care center in Rocky Ford, CO.

Fritz was born on October 13, 1934 at Salida, Colorado to Ervin Emerson, Sr. and Pauline Marie (Dutro) Sage.

Fritz attended country schools at Nathrop, Sand Park, Adobe Park and high school at Salida, graduating in 1953. Fritz enlisted in the Air Force in 1955 and served in the Philippine Islands, Alaska and California until discharged in 1958.

Fritz married Betty Jean McKinnon in 1958 and returned to Salida. He worked at the correctional facility at Buena Vista for 30 years and ranched on the side. After retiring from correctional work, he moved to La Juanta, Colorado and ranched, then to Fowler after retiring from ranching. He adopted Betty's three children.

Fritz was preceded in death by wife Betty, parents Ervin and Pauline Sage, brother Bill, sister Patricia Williams, children Michael and Elizabeth.

Fritz is survived by two sisters, Marie Hill of Layton, Utah and Rebecca Puyear of Arvada, Colorado, son Randy (Brenda) of Salida. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 26th at the Fowler Cemetery in Fowler, CO. Inurnment will take place in the Fowler Cemetery, Fowler, CO.
