Mrs. Ethel Irene Henrie, 100, of Rocky Ford died on Monday, April 5th, 2010 while in the company of family members at Cottonwood Ridge in Rocky Ford. Ethel was born in Rural Elk County, Kansas on March 14, 1910, the daughter of the late Clarence Samuel and Maude (Davis) Wilson. She graduated from Boone High School and attended the Colorado School of Nursing. She was the widow of George William Henrie. They were married March 2, 1938 in Raton, NM. He preceded her in death on March 31, 1992. She was a homemaker and had also worked at Divens Packing Plant and at the Colorado State Hospital as a nurse. She was a member of First Christian Church in Rocky Ford. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, Royal Neighbors, Napesta Homemakers, Napesta Saddle Club, Fowler Christian Church, 4-H Leader, Jolly Janes, Sunday Night Bowling League at 90 years old, and was a past President of the Department Association Ladies Auxiliary Patriarch Militant group. She is survived by: Son John (Patsy Getsweiller) Henrie of Benson, AZ; Daughter Deborah (Bill) Butler of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister-in-law Katherine Wilson of Pueblo, CO; Sister-in-law Mary Wilson of Walsenburg, CO; Granddaughter Sabrina (Bruce) Thoren of Lander, WY; Grandson John William Henrie, Jr. of Craig, CO; Granddaughter Tara (Jamie White) Henrie-White of Brighton, CO; Grandson Lance (Jennifer Adams-Butler) Butler of Rocky Ford, CO; Granddaughter Stacey (Brandon) Milenski of Rocky Ford, CO; Grandson Brian Butler of Rocky Ford, CO; Granddaughter Lindsey (Mike) Bates of Manzanola, CO; Great-Grandchildren 17 Great-Great-Grandchildren 1 She was preceded in death by her parents; husband George; sister: Wilma Wilson; brothers: Leonard and Clarence Wilson A Memorial Service will be at the Community Presbyterian Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 9th, with Rev. Steve Culver and Pastor John Dell officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Inurnment will be in the Fowler Cemetery Fowler, CO. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Valley Hospice 118 W. 4th La Junta, CO 81050. Honorary Bearers will be: Bruce Thoren, Brandon Milenski, John William Henrie, Jr., Brian Butler, Lance Butler, Mike Bates.
