Evangelina "Eva" Lopez, 80 passed away peacefully on April 7, 2020, surrounded by her daughters, in Richmond, CA.
Eva was born October 26, 1939 in La Junta, CO to Jessie and Bessie Pantoya.
Her family made their home in La Junta, until 1955. At which time they moved to Rocky Ford and opened the Fiesta Café. With a lot of hard work and dedication they ran a successful family business.
On July 2, 1960, she married her loving husband, Louis "Archie" Lopez, they lived in Rocky Ford raising three daughters and established Archie's Diagnostic Center and Mama Eva's Café.
Eva was a hardworking, loving, ever giving caregiver to everyone, especially for her grandchildren, nephews and nieces. There was always a place for you at her table. She also enjoyed traveling to many places, from Hawaii to Cancun, but her favorite place was Chimayo, NM. She enjoyed watching football and was a big fan of the Denver Broncos.
She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Rocky Ford.
She is survived by her daughters: Debra (Felix) Sandoval of Rocky Ford, Terri (Mario) Rosales of Hercules, CA. and Louise (David) Garcia, of Rocky Ford. Grandchildren: Francine Sandoval (Mary Lucero), Joshua Sandoval, Jessica Sandoval, Dean Jr. (Katie) Aragon, Aubrey Aragon, David L. (Hope) Garcia, Jacob (Nidia Gonzales) Garcia, Marito and Anthony Rosales. Great - grandchildren: Isabel, Deion, Alyssa, Givanni Aragon, Aubrianna Urban, Eric, Aliana, Sofia, Joshua Jr.(J.J.) , Baby Evangelina "Eva" Sandoval, Kye , Kayden, Keegan Garcia, Alba Martinez, and twin girls Davi & Jovi Garcia. Also, great-great-grandson Armonte Montoya. Mrs. Lopez is also survived by her brother and sisters: Barbara Martinez and Josie (Claire) Green of Rocky Ford, John J. (Patricia) Pantoya of Dearborn, MI along with numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband "Archie", brother Frank Pantoya, parents Jessie and Bessie Pantoya.
