Felipe "Phil" Aragon

July 17, 1934 - June 6, 2014

Felipe Alfonso (Phil) Aragon, 79, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Friday, June 6th, suddenly, at his residence. Felipe was born in Anton Chico, NM on July 17, 1934, a son of the late Adela (Gonzales) and Miguel Aragon. He attended schools in New Mexico and Rocky Ford, CO. He was the husband of Ruby Maria (Aguilar) Aragon. On January 15, 1985, they were married at La Junta, CO. He worked in construction for the Santa Fe Railroad where he performed many duties within the railroad from bridge construction, painting, working on the tracks and whatever else was called upon him. Phil had a great love for his little Jewel (Ruby) his family and many friends. He loved music, dancing, sports especially the Denver Broncos. He will be remembered for his kind heart, great sense of humor and his infectious laugh. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO. He is survived by his wife Ruby Aragon of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Kenny Aragon, of Littleton, CO; Daughter Lori, wife of David Martinez, of Thornton, CO; Daughter Lisa, wife of Jay Baca, of Thornton, CO; Son Randy, husband of Janice Aragon, of Henderson, CO; Daughter Phyllis, wife of Rudy Martinez Aragon, of Thornton, CO; Brother Arthur Aragon, of Farmington, NM; Brother Frank Aragon, of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Irene, wife of Ted Mascarenas, of Pueblo, CO; Brother Manuel Aragon, of Pueblo, CO; Brother David, husband of Becky Aragon, of Albuquerque, NM; Brother Paul, husband of Bernice Aragon, of Pueblo West, CO; Brother Edward, husband of Jan Aragon, of Pueblo, CO. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; Pancho (Marisa) Aragon, Daniel Aragon, Isaac Miera, Justin Martinez, Amber Aragon, Sydney Martinez, Chantal Baca, Mariah Martinez, Cheyanne Baca; 3 great-grandchildren; Gianni Aragon, Gia Aragon, Avaya Aragon. Phil was preceded in death by his parents; sisters; Flora Lucero, Faye Armenta; brother; Freddie Aragon A Rosary service will be recited on Thursday at 10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow both at the St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:30 AM on Thursday, June 12th, with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11 AM until 5 PM at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO.
