Rocky Ford, CO Floyd Wesley Rains Floyd Wesley Rains, 78, of Rocky Ford died Sunday, September 21st, 2008 peacefully at his residence. Floyd was born in La Junta, CO on October 23, 1929, the son of the late William Carl and Erma Lou (Rose) Rains. He graduated from La Junta High School and Trinidad Jr. College with an Associate Degree in Building Trades. He was the husband of Melva Jean (Jameson) Rains. They were married on August 20, 1955 in Trinidad, CO They just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. He was a Carpenter/Rancher at Whitlock Construction Co. in Pueblo, CO retiring in 1992. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife; Daughter: Koye Lynn wife of Tom Hendrix of Wray; Son: Kim Rains of Timpas, CO; Brother: Bill husband of Faye Rains of Boone, CO; Brother: Joe husband of Sandy Rains of Greeley, CO; Grandson: Matt and his Fiance' Breeann Hendrix of Ft. Collins, CO; Grandson: Kyle Hendrix of Wray, CO; Step-Granddaughter: Arah Minch of La Junta, CO; Step-Granddaughter: Ka Cee Mitchell of La Junta, CO; Step-Grandson: John Mitchell of La Junta, CO; Step-Great-Granddaughters: Lexie & Aalyha Sister-in-law: Joyce Rains of Colorado Springs, CO; Sister-in-law: Joyce Jameson of Sultan, WA; Sister-in-law Vee Jameson of Springfield, CO; Several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by a twin brother and his wife Lloyd & Mary Ann and a brother Jim; a step-great-granddaughter: Shyann Phillips. Funeral Services will be at the at First Baptist Church in Rocky Ford, CO, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 24th, with Pastor Chris Becker officiating. Friends are invited to call Tuesday from 2-8 PM at the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home, LLC. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO.
