Frank "Koji" Hirakata

February 19, 1930 - June 18, 2011

Mr. Franklin Kojiro (Koji) Hirakata, 81, of Rocky Ford died on Saturday, June 18th, 2011 peacefully at Arkansas Valley Regional Nursing Center - East, LaJunta, CO. Koji was born in Rocky Ford, CO on February 19, 1930, the son of the late Keiji and Toki (Kumagai) Hirakata. He graduated from Swink High School. He served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a self-employed Farmer and a member of the First Christian Church in Rocky Ford, CO. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening and to spend time outdoors. He is survived by: Brother Jerre husband of Betty Hirakata of Rocky Ford, CO; Sister Tatsuko Sato of Mitchell, NE; Brother Gene husband of Susie Hirakata of Rocky Ford, CO; Aunt Suki Kumagai of Parker, CO; Numerous Nieces & Nephews. Memorial Services will be at a later time with Pastor John Dell officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected.
