Freda Jones, 97, passed into the arms of Jesus at the Crowley County Nursing Center on July 31, 2025. She was born Jan 17, 1928 in Durango, Colorado to Brown and Lizzy Poage. She was the first of 7 children.

Her family moved to the Arkansas Valley when she was young and spent her time in the field helping her dad who she affectionately knew as Daddy.

In 1947, she married Olan "Pee Wee" Jones and had three children, Gary, Terry and Kim.

She worked for the telephone company in her younger years and later at Dr. McDonnell's office in Fowler. She also volunteered at the museum in Fowler for many years.

To her family and friends, she was a role model, a testament of strength, pillar of support and a constant source of selfless love.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Terry, brothers Eugene, Delmar, and Tom Poage, and sister Sue Watson. She is survived by her son Gary Jones, daughter Kim (Carl) Ross, and daughter-in-law Carole Jones-Weaver. Sister Polly Jensen and brother Dale Poage. Grandkids Andy (Valerie) Jones, Gina (Chris) McFarland, Ashley (Richard) Eng, Shayleah (Daniel) Collins, Daniel (Mallory) Ross, Emily (Keith) Dunagan. Great-grandkids Alexis (Frank) Jones, Adrianna Jones, James McFarland, Matthew McFarland, Ella, Athan and Addy Eng, Beverly, Lola and Robert Dunagan, and great-great-grandson Drew Jones.
