Gennie Bell Lindsay, 96, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Thursday, November 14th, peacefully, at Pioneer Health Care Center, Rocky Ford. Gennie was born in Lamar, CO on April 30, 1917, a daughter of the late Cora Rebecca (Field) and John J. Davis. She graduated from Las Animas High School in 1936. Gennie was the widow of Lester L. Lindsay, they were married at Las Animas, CO. in 1939. He preceded her in death on April 14th, 1970. She worked as a Nurse's Aide at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Rocky Ford, CO. She is survived by: Son Virgil, husband of Claudette Lindsay, of La Junta, CO; Son Stan, husband of Dorothy Lindsay, of Swink, CO; Grandson Chuck, husband of Sherry Lindsay, of Monument, CO; Grandson Greg, husband of Beth Lindsay, of Evergreen, CO; Granddaughter Cathy, wife of Mark Myers, of Pueblo West, CO; Granddaughter Barbara, wife of Keith O'Regan, of Dallas, TX; Granddaughter Shelly, wife of Steve Leenerts, of Pueblo, CO. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; Kyle & Matt Lindsay, Kristen, Brad & Ben Lindsay, Emilie & Daniel Myers, Allison, Melissa & Connor Woeber. Gennie was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Lester; 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Graveside Services will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Rocky Ford, CO, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 19th, with Pastor Kurt England officiating. Friends are invited to call on Monday from 5-7 PM at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pioneer Health Care/Residence Fund 900 S. 12th St., Rocky Ford, CO 81067. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford-Ustick Funeral Home.
