Mr. Gerald Eugene Cummings, 70, of Monument CO passed away suddenly Monday, October 26th, 2009 at Memorial Health System, Colorado Springs, CO. Gerald was born in Rocky Ford, CO on July 21, 1939, the son of the late Ira Ora and Velma Elmira (Coon) Cummings. He was the husband of Bea (Salas) Cummings. They were married on February 14, 1992 in Trinidad, CO. He was employed as a Meat Cutter at the Air Force Academy. Gerald started his career in Swink, Co. as he had his own market. Later he worked and retired from Safeway as a market manager for 34 years. He is survived by his wife, Daughter Geri Sue wife of Gary Fagan of Gypsum, CO.; Daughter Amy wife of Rob Anderson of Canon City, CO; Step Daughter Selina Romero of Monument, CO; Step Daughter Melissa wife of Mike Lewis of Washington; Step Son Max husband of Mary Romero of Littleton, CO.; Step Son Anthony Romero of Las Vegas, NM; Sister Leona Irvin of Fowler, CO; Sister Linda wife of Jona Lofing of Swink, CO.; Brother Leon husband of Darlene Cummings of Lindsborg, KS. He is also survived by 5 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Parents: A Brother Ira Jerome "JR" Cummings: A Sister: Clair Jean Blanka and a Nephew: Steve Blanka. Funeral Services will be held at the Valley Community Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 31st, with Pastor Kurt England and Pastor Wallace Kurtz officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday 10:00am-12:00pm at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Inurnment will be private at a later time.
