Obituary

Gerald Jensen went to be with his LORD on Friday evening, March 6, 2020. He died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family. He was 91.

Gerald was born and raised in Fowler, Colorado, and it was there that he met and married Betty Lou Coltrin on November 10, 1951. During their engagement, they built their home at 407 10th street. It was in this home that they raised their seven children, welcomed their 18 grandchildren, and hosted on many occasions their 40 great-grandchildren.

After attending Blair Business College, Gerald came home and became the manager of the family - owned business known as The Fowler Creamery Company. In 1975 Gerald, along with partners, Betty Jensen and Jerry and Bonnie Jensen, transitioned the company into Jensen's Blue Ribbon Processing Plant.

Gerald was a councilman, a Sunday school teacher, and the youngest member of the building committee of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fowler. As a member of the Boy Scouts, he earned the high honor of Eagle Scout. After college, he became part of the Army Reserves from 1950-1956 and was an original member of the Danish Brotherhood from 1949- 2020.

Gerald loved his Danish heritage and cherished his memories of going to Denmark. One of his favorite sayings was Jeg elsker dig (I love you). Gerald will be remembered for his old cars, his ivy caps, a million great stories, his generosity, patience, and kindness, but most of all, for his commitment and love of God and his family.
