Gilford Osburn

December 31, 1950 - February 2, 2018

Gilford C. Osburn, 67, of Ordway, CO, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 2nd, at Parkview Medical Center, Pueblo, CO.

Gilford was born in La Junta, CO on December 31, 1950, a son of the late Ada Ione (Brown) and Ellsworth Osburn. He graduated from Crowley County High School in 1969 and enlisted in the U. S. Army on February 2, 1970 serving in the Vietnam War with Company B 704th Maintenance Battalion.

He was the husband of Genevieve (Chavez) Osburn. they were married on June 13, 1976 in Ordway, CO.

Gilford worked for Carl Olsen Painting and Roofing, Ordway Building Supply and 18 years for the Pueblo Army Depot, retiring in 2003 due to health issues. He manged the V. F. W. Post #336 for over 13 years and was devoted on keeping the club going strong.

Gilford was a member of the V.F.W. Post #336 and held the position of Quartermaster. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #94, both in Ordway, CO.

He is survived by his wife, Genevieve of the home;

Daughter Andrea Fresquez, of Colorado Springs, CO;

Son Daniel (Brandy) Fresquez, of Ordway, CO;

Sister Patsy (Bob Montoya) Osburn, of Ordway, CO.

He is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Jeremy T. Stover, Joshua Stover, Amber Fresquez, Julie Fresquez, Emma, Evelyn, Ellexa and Dean Hodgins.

Gilford was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, son: Tommy and a brother: Chuck.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Big Blue located on the corner of 2nd & Colorado in Ordway, CO. There will be no viewing as cremation has been chosen. There will be a private family inurnment at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to V. F. W. Post 336; 104 Arkansas, Ordway, CO 81063.
