Harold O'Neal Bostwick

September 27, 1920 - September 28, 2008

Mr. Harold O'Neal Bostwick, 88, of Rocky Ford, died Sunday, September 28th, 2008 peacefully at the Pioneer Health Care Center in Rocky Ford.

Harold was born in Pecan Gap, TX on September 27, 1920, the son of the late Nathaniel Elwin and Ada (Davis) Bostwick. He was raised in Hugo, OK with 7 other siblings.

He was the husband of Susie (Miller) Bostwick. They were married on May 4, 1950 in San Angelo, TX. They later moved to Brownwood, TX so he could attend college to prepare for Church Ministry.

He was a Teacher/Pastor. They moved to Colorado in 1962 and he Pastored churches in Westcliffe, Penrose, Pueblo & Rocky Ford. He also taught school in Rocky Ford and at OJC retiring from OJC in 1984.

He served in the U.S. Army as a Tech 5 during WW II. He enlisted in the US Army in 1942 and served on a hospital ship for 1 year and 26 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 siblings and a son: Billy Bostwick.

He is survived by his wife: Susie of the home; 2 sons: Gerry Miller and his wife Karen of Firestone, CO and Larry Bostwick of Northglen, CO. He is also survived by 6 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren and many friends.

Funeral Services will be at the First Southern Baptist Church, La Junta, CO, at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 2nd, with Pastor Bob Swift officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:00 AM until service time at the First Southern Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery Rocky Ford, CO.
