Harold Ronald (Ron) Pacheco, 59, of La Junta, CO, passed away Monday, April 24th, unexpected at his residence. Harold was born in Rocky Ford, CO on October 31, 1957, a son of the late Frances Ellen (Blea) and Harold Nicholas Pacheco. Ron worked as a laborer in many jobs in California, until he move to La Junta CO, in 1994. Ron was a graduate of the 1976 class of Tracy California High School Known as the Bulldogs. In high school Ron participated in many sports and was a top athlete in many of these sports. Football, Baseball, Track, and Basketball, his abilities were so well known he was scouted by professional baseball scouts in the sport of Baseball. Unfortunately, during a championship football game Ron was injured with a head injury. This injury was the catalyst of his epileptic issues that challenged him throughout his life. He was challenged by many issues in this change and had been deeply involved with the unfortunate dive of alcoholism. The greatest thing of this issue was the recovery. Ron realized his Illness and started a recovery of his being Ron built his world around his ability to help and save others that were challenged by this disease. While during his recovery, Ron made inroads to learn and adapt his world to assist others. Ron had numerous friends, he helped many people in the community. His volunteer work was well known. He participated with the Associated Charities of La Junta. Ron was a founding member of the Primary Purpose Narcotics Group. On May 10th the Alcoholic Anonymous group of La Junta will dedicate their ceremony to the name of Ron Pacheco. Ron was a well known and loved person of our community. Ron is survived by: Sister Ruby Baca, of Denver, CO; Sister Pauline, wife of Lawrence Pantoya, of La Junta, CO; Brother Billy, husband of Jessica Baca, of Tracy, CA; Brother Frederico Cheto Baca, of La Junta, CO; Sister Emma Jean, wife of Mike Navone, of Tracy, CA; Brother Danial Joe, husband of Alma Baca, of Tracy, CA; Sister Lillian, wife of Martin Esparza, of Stockton, CA; Brother Henry, husband of Delinda Pacheco, of Livermore, CA; Brother Leonard Patrick, husband of Ida Pacheco, of Tracy, CA; He was preceded in death by: his parents Harold Pacheco Sr, Frances Pacheco; Sister Molly Garcia and a Brother Santiago Baca (Jimmy) A Memorial Service will be held at on Wednesday, May 3rd at Ford - Ustick Funeral Home in Rocky Ford, CO. Inurnment will be in the Valley View Cemetery, Rocky Ford, CO. There will be no viewing as cremation has been effected. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ford - Ustick Funeral Home.
