Mrs. Hattie Lenore Roberts, 89, of Rocky Ford passed away on Sunday, March 17th, 2013 peacefully at University Park Care Center, Pueblo, CO. Hattie was born in Mt. Hope, WV on November 26, 1923, the daughter of the late Samuel James and Clara (Meadows) Williams. She graduated from high school in Mt. Hope, WV. She was the widow of Lawrence Harry Roberts, they were married on March 25, 1946 in Raton, NM. He preceded her in death in 1979. She retired as a Waitress at Peggy's Cafe Rocky Ford, CO and also had worked for Frozen Foods and for a Munitions Company during the WWII. She was a member of La Junta Baptist Tabernacle in La Junta, CO. She enjoyed bowling and was on several leagues in the area. She is survived by: Son Jack husband of Laura Roberts of Yuma, CO; Son Jim husband of Linda Roberts of La Veta, CO; Daughter Jean wife of Alvin Hall of Thornton, WA; Son John Roberts of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter June wife of Keith Loterbauer of Colorado Springs, CO; Son Jeffrey husband of Bobbie Roberts of Ordway, CO; Nephew/Adopted Son Kenneth Purcell of Rocky Ford, CO. Sister Edith wife of Cliff Russell of Denver, CO; Sister Gloria wife of Charles Slimmer of Mt. Hope, WV; She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law: Leona Seal and Leora McGee of Pueblo, CO. Hattie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Lawrence; daughter: Rosemary; 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Funeral Services will be at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home, Rocky Ford, CO, at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 22nd, with Pastor Bryon Roberts officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1-4 PM. Visitation will also be on from Friday 8:30 until service time at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO.
