Helen Maria Norris, 75, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Wednesday, July 11th, peacefully, at her residence.

Helen was born in Valmora, NM on May 27, 1943, a daughter of the late Gurtrude (Maes) and Samuel Gurule.

She was the widow of Gene Goldsmith Norris.

Helen was a member of St. Peters Catholic in Church Rocky Ford, CO.

She worked as a Housekeeper for several different families in Otero county.

She volunteered for the catholic church dinners, the local food banks and was the first lady elkette at the Rocky Ford ELKS Lodge #1147.

Helen is survived by

a daughter, Cora (Mark) Martinez, of Denver, CO;

a son,Steve (Angie) Garcia, of Riverside, CA;

two sisters, Francis DeHerrera, of Rocky Ford, CO; Tonie (Manuel) Dominguez, of Denver, CO; a brother, Jimmy Gurule, of Rocky Ford, CO;

She is also survived by 8 Great-Grandchildren: Raylene Vaca, Alexander Garcia, Alyssa Barrios, Adrian Diaz, Andrew Diaz, Daniel Barrios, Mariah Diaz, Nathaniel Barrios all of Riverside, CA.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Gene; son: Frank Garcia; brother: Sammy Gurule.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, July 16th at St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. Inurnment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO.
