Henry Ybarra, 67, of Ordway, CO, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at his brother's residence, La Junta.

Henry was born in La Junta, Colorado on August 7, 1952, to Nieves and Josephine (Rodriguez) Ybarra.

He grew up in Ordway and graduated from Crowley County High School in 1970. He joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed on a cruiser ship in South Asia during Vietnam.  After the service, Henry attended the Southern Colorado State College in Pueblo where he received his Bachelor's degree and later graduated with his Master's degree from Highlands University in New Mexico.

He worked at the state hospital in Pueblo and later with the State of Colorado as a Case Worker where he retired after many years.Â

He was a fan of the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos, and enjoyed traveling,Â

He was a member of the VFW and American Legions in Pueblo and Ordway.

He is survived by his brother Albert (Delia) Ybarra, of La Junta, brother Jim (Leslie) Ybarra of Aurora, sister, Mary (Ben) Martinez of Pueblo; brother Daniel, (Bernadette) Ybarra of Pueblo West. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Hope Ybarra.

A Rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 28, 2019 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. both at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Ordway with Father Paul Ekeh as celebrant. Inurnment will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Ordway with military honors.
