Mr. Howard James Paugh, 91, of Rocky Ford died on Saturday, September 19th, 2009 at the Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center, La Junta, CO. Howard was born in Clay County, NE on December 23, 1917, the son of the late Peter and Mary (Jones) Paugh. He was the widower of Maxine Mardell (Highland) Paugh. They were married on Jan. 6, 1950 in Raton, NM. She preceded him in death on July 2, 2003. He worked in maintenance for the Rocky Ford Post Office in Rocky Ford, CO. He was a member of the Westside Christian Church He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He is survived by: Son John husband of Dorothy Paugh of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Elaine Paugh of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Linda wife of Norman Smith of Stuarts Draft, VA; Brother Dick husband of Joyce Paugh of Manzanola, CO; Brother John husband of Jody Paugh of Fountain, CO; Sister Lola Coffee of Rocky Ford, CO. Grandchildren: Craig Smith of Stuarts Draft, VA and Leslie Krendl of Virginia Beach, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Maxine in 2003; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Graveside Service will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 23rd, with Pastor John Dell officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday 5-8 PM at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery Rocky Ford, CO.
