Humberto Ontiveros, Sr.

March 11, 1940 - December 28, 2014

Humberto Ontiveros, Sr., 74, of Manzanola, CO, passed away Sunday, December 28th, suddenly at his residence. Humberto was born in Est. Morita, Chihuahua, Mexico on March 11, 1940, a son of the late Francisca (Lopez) and Manuel Ontiveros. He was the husband of Maria Rosario (Gomez) Ontiveros they were married in June of 1992 in La Junta, CO. He retired as a Machine Operator at Manzanola Feeds Manzanola, CO. He had also worked at Hollar Seeds & Manzanola High School. In his earlier years he supported his family as a lumberjack, was a self-taught mechanic and prior to entering the United States he worked his family owned farm. Humberto enjoyed gardening, his pets, listening to music, going for walks, working on his 1972 Brown Ford Truck, watching boxing and spending time and spoiling his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Maria of the home; Daughter Guadalupe "Lupe", wife of Edgar Moreno, of Hanover Park, IL; Son Javier, husband of Maria Trinidad Ontiveros, of Columbus, IN; Daughter Rosalba "Rosie", wife of Troy Trujillo, of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Humberto, husband of Martha Ontiveros, Jr., of Brighton, CO; Daughter Laura Rodriguez of Pueblo, CO; Daughter Jacquline Ontiveros, of Manzanola, CO; Son-in-Law Keith Rodriguez of Pueblo, CO; He is also survived by Step-Children: Armando Avila-Gomez; Martha Avila-Gomez; Norma Avila-Gomez; Domitilia Gomez-Duran; Grandchildren: Corinna Moreno, Erwin Moreno, Alexandra Moreno, Andrea Moreno, Xavier Ontiveros, Julian Ontiveros, Mireya Trujillo, Jennifer Trujillo, Olivia Ontiveros, Allison Ontiveros, Evan Rodriguez, Keylan Ontiveros-Hogan, Keyani Ontiveros-Hogan, Perla Avila-Gomez, Ignacio Valenzuela-Gomez, Aaron Valenzuela-Gomez, David Valenzuela-Gomez Humberto was preceded in death by parents; Son: Manuel Francisco & Grandson: Xavieer Moreno. A Rosary Service will be recited at 11:30 AM Saturday at St. Peters Catholic Church with A Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 12:00 AM on Saturday, January 3rd. A Visitation will be on Friday from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Manzanola Cemetery Manzanola, CO.
