Ichiro "Ich" Suto

Ichiro (Ich) Suto, 91, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away Monday, February 13th, peacefully at Cottonwood Ridge Assisted Living in Rocky Ford, CO. Ichiro was born in Rocky Ford, CO on February 14, 1925, the son of the late Denbichi (Takahashi) and Kunikichi Suto. He was the husband of Peggy (Walker) Suto, they were married on January 29, 1960 at Raton, NM. He graduated from Swink High School in 1945. He was a self-employed farmer, a custom farmer & worked several campaigns at American Crystal Sugar Factory. Ich was a member of First Christian Church, Japanese American Citizen League, Rocky Ford ELKS #1147 and the Smoke Shack Club. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Peggy; Sons David Babin, of Colorado Springs, CO; Carey (Connie) Suto, of Rocky Ford, CO; Troy (Kelly) Suto, of Ft. Collins, CO; Sister Virginia Sato, of Lakewood, CO; Brother-in-Law Ted Shioshita, of Lakewood, CO. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Justin (Kristyn) Suto, of Tucson, AZ,; Grant (Gabriella) Suto of Cabot, AR; Michael Suto of Lynchburg, VA; Dillon Suto of Ft. Collins, CO; Jamie Suto of Colorado Springs, CO; Numerous Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Tony Babin; 2 sisters: Miyoko Goto & Jane Shioshita. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 18th at First Christian Church in Rocky Ford, CO with Pastor John Dell and Jerry Goto in charge of the Koden. Inurnment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Rocky Ford, CO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church 9th & Maple, Rocky Ford, CO 81067 or Arkansas Valley Hospice; 531 Lewis; La Junta, CO 81050.
