Ida Medina

Ida Elena Medina, 98, of Rocky Ford, CO, passed away on Sunday, February 2nd, while in the company of family members at her residence. Ida was born in Canon Largo, NM on February 1, 1916, a daughter of the late Aurelia (Esquibel) and David Gallegos. She was the widow of Alfonso Medina. On Dec. 28, 1935, they were married at Roy, NM. Ida was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, CO. Ida is survived by: Daughter Mary Maes, of Las Vegas, NM; Daughter Vita, wife of Seferino Ornelas, of Rocky Ford, CO; Daughter Patsy, wife of Rocky Lucero, of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Delfido, husband of Lydia Medina, of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Gilbert, husband of June Medina, of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Johnny Medina, of Rocky Ford, CO; Son George, husband of Lisa Medina, of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Urvin, husband of Margaret Medina, of Rocky Ford, CO; Son Leroy, husband of Connie Medina, of Pueblo, CO; Sister Margaret Maestas, of Rocky Ford, CO. She is also survived by 25 Grandchildren; 59 Great-Grandchildren; 14 Great-Great-Grandchildren and numerous Godchildren, nieces and nephews. Ida was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 sisters; 2 brothers and granddaughter: Rosalie Ortiz; grandson: Michael Ortega; great-grandson: Mario Morales; great-grandson: Keith Ornelas; son-in-law: Margarito Maes; daughter-in-law: Martha Medina. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Peters Catholic Church, Rocky Ford, CO, at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 6th, with Fr. Paul Ekeh officiating. A Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11 AM until 4 PM at Ford-Ustick Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM at the St. Peters Catholic Church with Vita Ornelas reciting.
